I specifically asked at Wal-mart today and SP simply isn't on their list. We're not getting the new cd any time soon =(

i live in Scotland and have Tri-polar, thanks to the wonderful Donna who sent me it. Darkdreamers and SweetNmuddyHalloween, i know your pain, trying to get dual was a nightmare. im not sure if virgin has it in thier database, but you can order it from HMV, 3-4 weeks delivery for my dual. happy hunting nonetheless :)

I just sent in a report, for my first 3 stores.....
I wanted to share with all of you, a story from one of those stores.....
It was the FYE store, in the Times Square Mall, in Mt. Vernon Illinois.
I went to the store on 7/14, to pick up my pre-sale copy....
The first thing I noticed was about 15 feet from the door of the store, I heard......GUESS WHAT???...TRI-POLAR!!!
That's right, they were JAMMIN the new CD!!!!!!!!!!!
The rest of this story is copied & pasted from the report that I just sent in:
They were also displaying the CD in THREE different places!!!
One display was 2 steps inside the door!
The "New Music" rack.
This display had 33 copies in 3 stacks of 11.
The second place was on their "Top Sellers" rack.
This display was actually EMPTY when I got there.
I took 2 copies off of the New Music display, and put them on the Top Sellers rack. LOL
The third place where the CD was displayed was in the "online" rack. (the regular alphabetical rack).
This spot could almost count as TWO-displays-in-one......
It was in front of a "Sick Puppies" card, AND on the top shelf, where new releases are displayed!!!
I put arrows on the pic, to show both spots.
They also had SIX copies of DUAL, (NOT counting the one copy that had sold earlier that day!)

NOTE:
When I took the CD's off of one rack, to stock the "Top Sellers" rack, the store manager caught me. HaHaHa
He came right over to me, and said, "Are you applying for a job?" LMAO
I laughed, and proceeded to explain to him, who I was(an SPWC Ambassador), and what I was doing(checking on stores).
He said he was VERY impressed with the fact that the SPWC was out, checking on stores!!!!
He said they started out with 50 copies of Tri-Polar. (OF WHICH, they only had 38 copies left - not counting the one that he had opened, to play on the in-store stereo!!!)
He also told me that he had already sold several copies of Tri-Polar that day!!!
ANDDD....one of the people that bought a copy, also bought a copy of DUAL!!!!!!!!!!

On my follow-up visit, on 7/22.....
The CD was still displayed in the same places.
They had sold several more......and still had 28 copies left.
I think this FYE store is a PERFECT example of how ALL stores could help with CD sales!!!

Wow that is truly amazing (considering basically all the other FYEs failed epically lol) I wish our store was like that! But at least my store gladly took the lithos that Jerry gave me at the launch party... I then told the dj at the local rock station that there were lithos for whoever went to FYE to get the cd hehe I still need to follow up though

What if you already have BOTH cd's and what if you do not have many music related stores in your area??
When we went here to our local Best Buy in Bakersfield, they only had ONE left. No Dressed up as Life either. We found it in the new release section. Only one remained. I guess that means they were all bought up. lol. I dont think they ordered just ONE CD. LOL.

^^^ The point of the contest is not to buy the CDs, it's just to find them, and take a picture of them or where they should be if they don't have them. It doesn't have to be a music related store, Best Buy, Target, Walmart, Hot Topic...anywhere that sells CDs will do. It doesn't have to be a music store, per say.

Thats cool. If I were to do this, right now BB would be out of the question cuz they dont have any more. lol. I would have to wait til they get more in before I would go there. Thats a pretty cool contest.

Then you would take a picture of where the cd should be and post that they don't have any. You're really doing market research for the band and it's just as important to post a store that has 0 as it is to post a store that has a ton. That way the management team knows where they need to replace the cds, etc.

ive been checking around as well. i got it in a few stores. a couple of the pics are from my camera so they're not great lol. the most exciting thing is when i saw it at hot topic. they usually never have SP stuff!! i was really excited!

Hopefully I will be able to start looking in the 20+ local areas that should have the CD's
Last time I looked in a few of them they still had a few copies of Dressed up as Life.
Hopefully I will have some extra money so I can buy some copies of Tri-Polar while I am out.
Last time I was at one of the local indie record shops they had some copies of Welcome to the real world.
Does that count as extra special bonus points?

But I have no hope ; every time I looked for it, and even in the biggest CD sellers of the city, I found nothing... Sick Puppies are a mirage in France...
