Okay, so we all know that Green Day has been around FOREVER! Recently the frontman Billie Joe Armstrong Freaked out at the IHEartRadio Fest last friday. since then he has checked himself into rehab. For what we dont know... Any opnioins? Is he really sick? or is it just a Publicity stunt to support their new album?

Well first, he was extremely wasted at the iHeartRadio Festival but it didn't appear he was on any hard drugs (especially when you compare this to the 90s when he was stoned at pretty much every show he did). He got pissed off because their set was cut short to make more time for Usher, so that's why he went on the long rant about how they've been around since 1988 and deserve better treatment than that.

He's done worse (eg. Dropkick a guy in the audience, get naked at MSG because they "might never do a venue that big again", go on a long barely audible rant before playing She in Chicago which is the most stoned I've seen anyone, etc). The press release simply said he's seeking treatment for substance abuse which doesn't necessarily mean he's checked himself into rehab, that's just been the media.

From the looks of things, and how the same release claimed they were sorry and that their set wasn't cut short (although it obviously was), I'd say it's just so they don't make enemies with Clear Channel, so they're blaming it on substance abuse, although I believe he would've done the same sober. If he legitimately is going to rehab, then that could be just for alcohol, although he could be doing drugs after shows, as he definitely has done a show stoned in a while.

My thoughts.....Just wish him the best with whatever has happened. Sorry Usher and fans....I'd have thrown a huge tantrum myself if GD was cut short for Usher.....

I just hope he's okay. But his rant was understandable...I mean being cut for Usher? C'mon. I've observed people blowing his Justin Bieber comment out of proportion. I thought it was pretty great.

I love Green Day! I still haven't seen them live yet.
