Country, Anyone?
So I'm really not expecting to get a whole lot of responses to this hehe But figured I'd give it a shot!
I absolutely LOVE country music! In fact, I am seriously thinking about trying out for Nashville Star if they do it for another season... But yeah. I was wondering if anyone else here listens to it, and what artists do you like?
My top favorites:
Rascal Flatts
Sugarland
Carrie Underwood
Shania Twain

Re: Country, Anyone?
Missy ya shoulda known i would of responded haha. I would have to say that Reba is close to the top of my list. Not only has she shaped country music over her 30 years in the business, now she is helping other artists out. Kelly is now managed by Narvel Blackstock(Reba's husband) and Kell and Reba toured together as headliners at the beginning of the year and have an extensive second leg of their 2World's2Voice's tour scheduled to start at the end of September in Canada. WOW, I sure do ramble every time I talk about anything Kelly related, lol.
Well lets see, my top 10 female country artists would be:
Shania Twain - met her and followed her on tour(It's how I got hooked up with Kelly because Corey Churko played for Shania before Kelly, and Corey introduced me to Kelly.)
Reba McEntire
Faith Hill
Martina McBride
Carrie Underwood
Gretchen Wilson
Taylor Swift
Jo Dee Messina
Trisha Yearwood
Kellie Pickler
Top 5 Male country artists :
Toby Keith
Garth Brooks
Tim McGraw
Alan Jackson
Hank Williams Jr.

I'm sending out a signal to the possibility of you...
'Cause right at this moment, I know you're connected to a part of me that I don't even know myself.

OK here we go I will deny this in real life But I am a fan of some country. some people know I like Rascal Flatts and Dixie chicks, but that's all they know. I like Reba and Carrie Underwood, they are awesome. I dont know the other artist I like because I just listen to it on the radio here and there. Billy Ray Cyrus I like too.

I KNEW you would be the first to respond! Hehe...
I used to never like country. In fact, I still have a journal from when I was younger, and I read it from now and then. When I talked about what kind of music I liked, I said "Everything except country (except Shania Twain)" lol Now, that and rock are basically all I listen to. It's funny really. But I am glad you feel comfortable to tell us Nicole

Re: Country, Anyone?
I too am a country fan.
I also used to hate it and think it was the dumbest stuff ever, but then I musta grew into it.
I don't mind a lot of it now, in fact I'm going to see a few country artists at a local fair at the end of this month. (Jason Aldean and Craig Morgan)

Re: Country, Anyone?
Oh good, I can call on you lovely folk to give me song suggestions. We have this local Fall Fair every year and I love to sing, so I usually try to sign up for their big karaoke contest for fun - only problem is its allllllll country and I don't have a clue what to choose
Last time I entered I sang Suds In The Bucket, tee hee! And I don't want any Shania suggestions - though I love her, because everyone loves her and well she's already bound to be covered lol.. I'll check anything out on youtube/myspace but its got to be something I can get on karaoke of course since its a karaoke contest lol
Thanks!
P.S. Do any of you know Rick Tippe?

Re: Country, Anyone?
Sham- I would recommend anything you can find by Sugarland. My personal favorite is Settlin'. The one and only time I did karaoke it was a Sugarland song. I don't know why, but I just love singing along with Jennifer Nettles... ONLY ONE MORE WEEK FOR THEIR NEW ALBUM!!! Sorry, had to throw that in there... I wanna do karaoke again now, thanks Sham! LOL

Re: Country, Anyone?
LOL I like mostly female country singers as well... And Rascal Flatts is my favorite male group, and Gary's vocals sound a bit feminine lol *sigh* Oh well! At least you admitted it!

He's actually married! But yeah... I think I like them so much because of Carrie Underwood. Plus, I love singing to their music.

Johnny Cash is a given.
"Moments" by Emerson Drive. I love that song.
Crap. You guys are going to make me open my music list to remember the names of people and songs, lol.
"My Little Buckaroo" - Rodney Atkins
"Family Tradition" - Hank Williams (I *think*)
"Boondocks" - Little Big Town
Anything by (in no particular order):
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Gretchen Wilson
Tim McGraw
Dixie Chicks
Sawyer Brown
JoDee Messina
Jewel (after all she is considered country now)
Charlie Daniels
Brooks & Dunn
Okay, I think I'm done.
Tammy Wynette
Dolly Parton

I must admit... I didn't like Boondocks at first, but it has really grown on me. I wanna buy Little Big Town's cds... They sounded really great in concert.

I love how redneck it is - for lack of a better term. I've never seen them in concert but I would more than likely buy the CD but only cause Josh likes them that much.
